How to Save a Life"It's time for me to go now."

As if answering the girl's solemnly spoken words, the summer wind blew across the empty roof in an almost excited fashion. It blew her nightgown against her legs as she turned to face it. The night was lit brightly by the shining buildings and streetlights, but all of them seemed dim to her.

"Why?" an angry voice cried out behind her, and even though she knew he was going to react this way, she couldn't help but flinch.

"You know why," she replied, her tone eerily calm. It was at that moment that she felt a hand grip her bare arm roughly. She began to wonder whether he knew how much he hurt her, if he knew tha
SmileI gripped the crisp paper tightly in my shaking hands. My family next to me sat silently, shocked, eyes open wide and mouths open wider.

I brought my hands holding the letter up to my face, trying to make sure I had read the words correctly.

Dear Student,

You have broken at least two school rules within this term. Therefore, you will report to school on December the 9th at precisely ten in the evening to receive punishment. A school bus will arrive at your house at nine-thirty in the evening to collect you if you wish.

I can't believe I screwed it up.

MinesweeperLife is like a game of Minesweeper.

Nobody really knows what it is or how to get through it.

Sometimes you get stuck in difficult situations, and you just want to start over.

You're driven to giving up.

You make stupid choices.

You're driven to take guesses and leaps of faith; sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

You just click the wrong button, and it ends up ruining everything.

Once in a while, you're given a huge handout. Other times, just a small piece.

You don't know why you keep going on with it.

But you're damn well not going to close out the window before you win.
Secret"Hey, uh... I need to tell you something."

"Sure, what is it?"

"It's a secret. I've been keeping it to myself for such a long time, but I just need to tell someone, and you're a great friend, so I figured that I could trust you with this."

"Wow, really? Thanks! Okay, what's the secret?"

"Whoa, not so fast."

"...Huh?"

"First, you need to solemnly swear on anything and everything you hold dear that you will not, under any circumstances, tell anybody. And I mean ever."

"Wow, this must be pretty serious. Okay, I solemnly swear."

"Actually, now that I think about it, I'm gonna go write up a contract."

"Um, that's not really necessary."

MorbidHis eyes are
dark of course
his gaze drab
and lacking
his fingers thin and long
made for pressing down
on the wooden necks
of old cellos,
made for pattering along the
path of the black and white
plastic of
piano keys.

He drinks his coffee
black
because he's so sick of
the sweetness.
Tired of the tart smiles
of false romance,
bored with the everyday
metronome of her beauty as
it threatens to dictate
the rhythm of his universe.

The robust,
power of bitter
structure quakes his tongue
and he feels as though
he has just breathed in
a black
ocean.

and spits
and is not careful

The five year old girl cautiously entered the dimly lit room, eyes wandering curiously at her surroundings. It wasn't often she was allowed to stand in this room, and so she wanted to savor the rare moment.

The man sitting inside the study sighed audibly. Pencils were scattered across his desk, his paper coated in various amounts of graphite.

“I'm busy right now,” the man said tiredly, “and I need to have this done for a client by tomorrow. Go play.”

It's like I'm reading a story, even if this is based off your personal life.

I say go for it. Just try for at least one conversation and get to know him! You won't know anything about him until you ask! :>

haha, ikr! XD these days i usually tell it to get out, but other times "we" would usually argue about each other, how i hate it and it hates me too XD kinda like ur story above here XD
